Portal of the Feminine, is in its fifth year of creating a safe and generous space for women, seeks to provide an opportunity for women to cultivate a strong connection to their own bodies, arousal and their own erotic power. Right now, women are needing more than ever to come back to their bodies, and feel the full agency of their collective and individual power. You will leave this workshop feeling turned on, empowered, playful and full of a sense of renewal.

Portal of the Feminine was conceived out of a desire to introduce women to the power of collective female energy as well as support individual cultivation and exploration of the power of playfulness, embodied presence and your own individual expression of sexuality.

Portal of the Feminine is about learning your own entry way into your own body. We will take the time to listen to your body and actually talk to the erotic inside of you. You will have the opportunity to been seen through each others' eyes and through the eyes of a camera. We will encourage you to listen to what your body wants and you will be able to explore your erotic creature in your own way, with the guidance and support of experienced teachers of female sexuality.

In a sacred, playful and intentional environment that respects each woman's boundaries, we will go deep into the potential pleasure and wisdom of our bodies as we dance in the dark and the light of pleasure. Together we will experience our bodies as expressive, powerful and playful beings.

This special edition of Portal of the Feminine will be held in a private residence in Boulder, Colorado. In an atmosphere of permission and acceptance, each woman will explore and expand upon their awareness and sensation through a process of movement, the art if adoration, expanded arousal, boudoir photography, orgasmic meditation (not “OMing”) and playing with our edges.

Each woman will have the opportunity to explore their sexuality on both the physical and energetic realms. All expressions and choices are honored and celebrated.

This workshop is for women of all sexual orientations and ages who are willing to explore their own power to initiate the erotic and surrender to the erotic within a community of women.

During our weekend non-residentual two-day retreat, kicking off with a Friday evening gathering; we will explore embodiment practices that will allow us to go deep into the wisdom of our own bodies. Please join Pamela Madsen - internationally known sex educator and pioneer in women's sexuality for this non-residential two day retreat created just for women. At this Portal event, Pamela will be joined by Elizabeth Wood, a well known erotic educator with a flare for the mystic, Sway Photography who will capture and help call forth your erotic creature in images, and Dan Powers an extraordinary somatic sex educator, member of the Back to The Body Staff and founder of Beyond the Bedroom in two special guest appearances.

We will join together Friday evening before our weekend retreat to get to know each other, share some light food and refreshments, create the intentions for our retreat, and begin to explore shadow play; the right of the divine feminine.

On Saturday we will start the process of exploring, reclaiming or getting to know parts of our own erotic selves that we may never have explored before.

Our process will include:

2. Explore The Lotus Lift Meditation to tap into Arousal Energy to fuel your creativity

3. Explore our full female expression and how we hold those emotions in our bodies.

4. Explore a guided Art of Adoration Meditation and feel what it is to become living art in our own bodies in a ritual space.

5. Clear our relationship with the masculine.

6. Witness a live demonstration of Sexological Body Work and the Power of the Full Goddess Array in a woman's body.

7. Experience a sensual and fully support photo shoot.

8. Explore sensation as a tool of erotic trance states.

9.. Examine why we keep ourselves small erotically and practice opening ourselves up to our greatness

10.. Explore the concept of erotic fermantation.

11... Confront our hunger in every form from sexuality, to food, to money.

12..Dive into Orgasmic Yoga and Learn to access and work with our Arousal and Orgasm as a holistic tool for healing and transformation in our lives.

13. Learn the various ways that vulvas and vaginas differ from woman to woman. Elizabeth will describe nine female genital anatomy types as categorized by the Twisted Hair Elders. Knowledge is a powerful antidote to feeling shame. Knowing your genital anatomy can restore a natural connection to the core of your sexuality and reduce doubts, fears and insecurities about your genitals. When you know your anatomy type, a whole new world of sensation and sexual delights becomes available to you and your partner(s).

Meet Your Educators:

A pioneer in fertility and sex advocacy, Pamela Madsen is the Founder of Back to The Body: Sensuous Retreats for Women. Before taking on female sexuality full time; Pamela was the first Executive Director of The American Fertility Association. She is a fearless advocate for women’s health and integrated sexuality who leverages her raw honesty and well-informed wit to help strip the stigma from female desire and body image.

Pamela, a certified Somatic Sex Educator with a Master's degree in Education has coached hundreds of women on their own personal journey back into their bodies, and their own expression of their "Divine Feminine" whatever that means to them. Elizabeth Wood practiced for years as a sex therapist promoting sexual health, education and awareness. Through her work, Elizabeth helped countless women and couples develop greater levels of connectivity in their relationships and achieve more satisfying and stimulating levels of intimacy. Elizabeth is a Certified Tantra Educator through the School of Source Tantra. In addition, she completed the third level of the Chuluaqui Quodoushka Spiritual Sexuality Teachings and has extensive training in the art and practice of women’s orgasm taught by Lafayette Morehouse, Orgasmic Providers and OneTaste. Elizabeth is delighted to teach these practices to women who desire to more fully live their orgasm. Elizabeth is also Director of Education for Beyond the Bedroom, where she shares her knowledge with a wider audience through seminars, classes and workshops.

At the age of 40, Dan Powers was introduced to the Western version of the tantric arts through Charles Muir and the Source School of Tantra Yoga. That introduction began his quest for knowledge about all things related to a more intimate expression of sex and sexuality. Being an engineer, Dan sought to learn other grounded approaches to sexuality and gain an understanding of the inner working from the perspective of how bodies function. After years of study, the result of his quest is a comprehensive knowledge about sex, sexuality and relating from a wide variety of disciplines and traditions including Quodoushka, Sky Dancing Tantra, Human Awareness Institute (HAI), Lafayette Morehouse, Body Electric, One Taste, and many more. He shares his knowledge with his clients and the wider community through his company Beyond the Bedroom asking them to explore what is possible so they can decide what works best for them and their relationships.

At Back to the Body, Dan brings all his teaching to the table through coaching and bodywork. Working with the guidelines of Sexological Bodywork, Dan is driven by the deep knowledge that each woman needs to be treated uniquely to create the most appropriate experience for her journey. Her skill goes beyond framing the perfect shot and playing with light, her gift is in capturing peoples essential beauty. You see a person begin shed their baggage and their pre-fabricated boundaries and their true essence shines through. I am privileged to be able to capture that.”

Sway has worked for high end corporations capturing industry standard products for marketing materials for companies such as J lab audio and in addition she is skilled at taking professional headshots for local and national organizations. She has photographed numerous weddings, families, and special events. Her skills are broad but her main passion and personal purpose is to capture authentic sensual beauty.

Sway has published a book called Queerography | Intimate Expressions of Queer Culture in Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Bangkok. The main purpose of this art composition is to connect queer culture across international borders. Queerography highlights Sways interest in non-binary intersections of gender, queer culture, and desire across cultural and world boundaries.

Sway is currently located in the front range of Boulder, Colorado and travels frequently for photographic work as well, shooting both nationally and Internationally.
